Important Updates on Otay Mesa East Port of Entry (POE)/State Route 11

1) – The Record of Decision was recently obtained for the Otay Mesa East POE/State Route 11 project. This is another major milestone in the development of this important infrastructure project and is a requirement to purchase right of way for the project. To our knowledge this is the first time that a State Highway and a POE have been cleared environmentally in the same document.

2) – In November, CALTRANS will be begin making right of way offers to property owners to build Segment I of the project, which includes building two- lane connectors between SR-905 and Enrico Fermi Drive. These connectors will eventually be part of SR-11 once Segments II and III of the project are completed. Construction is expected to begin the last quarter of 2013.
